CleanTech startup Urjas has secured an angel funding of USD 100,000 from Dr. Aniruddha Malpani and Solidarity Investment Advisors.
The Mumbai based startup manufactures gasifiers- equipment that convert biowaste into energy. These gasifiers can work with multiple types of biowaste and require low maintenance.
It was founded by three IIT B alumni Pradeepkumar Podal, Devendra Pareek, and Ashwinikumar Shejwalkar in 2012. The raised amount will be used to scale up operations i.e. increasing the manufacture of gasifiers and pilot installation of their product.
“We are solving many problems at once. From global warming to saving our nation’s foreign exchange. And most importantly we are helping our businesses become more competitive. Our latest client plans to take on its Chinese rival by reducing their operating costs to 50%,” said Pradeepkumar Podal.Category Investments Startups
