After Oculus-Rift, a Virtual Reality headset acquired now by Facebook, HTC joins the league of Virtual Reality (VR) technology. In partnership with Valve, HTC is soon to develop its high-tech VR headset called HTC Re Vive.
The device would have multiple sensors, including accelerometer, gyroscope and a laser position sensor that will track the entire surroundings of the person wearing the headset. The wearer thus, would be able to explore the virtual environment and could as well interact with and inspect the surrounding objects from all the sides.
Technically, Re Vive will show 1,200 x 1,080 screen in front of each eye, with refresh rates of 90 frames per second. The headphones would come with ‘ergonomic VR game controllers’ for each hand, attached with an audio jack for connection.
The developer edition of this device as per HTC would be launched in Spring 2015 while the consumer-ready product make an entry into the market by 2015’s holiday season.
