Bharti Airtel Partners with Amazon to Boost its Cloud Computing Offering

Bharti Airtel, a telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, has announced its partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to offers its cloud computing services to local customers.

The move is in line with Airtel’s strategy to strengthen its cloud service portfolio by adding AWS to its growing list of cloud services providers. It will offer companies a dedicated connection between their premises and AWS data centers, the facility which was not available earlier.

Through the partnership, it will be able to reduce network costs, increase bandwidth and provide a more consistent network experience, helping Indian businesses of all sizes to rapidly expand their organizations.

Amazon Web Services offers facilities like website hosting, data storage, and other softwares required to run or manage a business.

In India, Bharti Airtel’s product offerings include 2G, 3G and 4G wireless services, mobile commerce, fixed line services, high speed DSL broadband, IPTV, DTH, enterprise services including national & international long distance services to carriers. In the rest of the geographies, it offers 2G, 3G wireless services and mobile commerce. Bharti Airtel had over 312 million customers across its operations at the end of December 2014.
