E-commerce firm Infibeam has launched its new service Shipdroid. Its a SaaS-based logistics services aggregation platform which will help merchants registered with Infibeam’s BuildaBazaar to deliver packages across country.
The new service allows the merchants to integrate with various courier services in India and helps in maintaining uniformity of entire logistics and fulfillment process. It has reach of 20,000 pincodes in 600 cities across the country as reported by Medinama.
The merchants can pick the courier provider they want to deliver the product and then print and paste the shipping labels on the packed product. A courier man from the company will pick up the package and deliver it. Merchants can track the package on the Shipdroid’s website. The merchants can also choose the mode of delivery of the product, i.e. whether by road, rail or by air. However, there is no return facility yet.
In 2013 e-commerce platform provider Kartrocket had also launched a similar service known as Shiprocket. It is also based on the SaaS model which allows e-commerce firms to have an efficient delivery management service. It covers 12,000 pin codes including 6,000 COD pin codes.
