Google has acquired augmented reality app maker Launchpad Toys for an undisclosed amount. Launchpad posted the news on its website:

We’re proud to announce that our little toy company is pairing up with a great big team of tinkerers to empower GAJILLIONS of playful storytellers around the world. Launchpad Toys is joining Google to create even more amazing creativity tools for kids. Today, we’ve made our digital toys and tools free to creative kids everywhere. Tomorrow… well, we can’t wait to share :)

Launchpad Toys builds digital toys and tools like Toontastic and TeleStory that empower kids to create and share stories through imaginative play.TeleStory is an augmented reality video camera that gets kids off the couch to perform and record their own TV shows through creative play.

Kids can create their own musical performance using the app and camera on their iOS device. Since now it’s a part of  the Google family we can now expect an Android version in the future.
