Crowdfunding Platform Wishberry to Go Offline with Six Projects at the Goa Project

Mumbai-based a crowdfunding website, Wishberry is all set to go offline with six campaigns handpicked for on-the-spot crowdfunding on February 27th at The Goa Project (TGP). TGP brings together people to share and learn in each other’s company.

These six projects, chosen out of 65 projects in December last year, will be showcased to a live audience at TGP and the audience will fund their favorite ones at the event in real time.

Wishberry Co-Founder Anshulika Dubey said, “The Goa Project is a great place to get the relevant audience for innovative projects across arts and technology. TGP community has earlier supported successful projects like Menstrupedia, Lawtoons and Riding On a Sunbeam. So this time we thought of doing something different. We thought of getting people together at TGP to witness some live crowdfunding action.” The third edition of TGP takes place from February 26th to 28th at Bay 15, Dona Paula, Panjim, Goa.

The six chosen projects are:

King’s Kin
King’s Kin is a tabletop game designed for children aged 10-15. At the center of the game is King Kokomaharaj, who is on his deathbed and is leaving clues behind for the players to find his one true kin.

Target Amount: Rs 5 Lakh

The Yellow Chair
What started as a challenge from friends turned into The Yellow Chair. The chair is handcrafted using 500+ waste pens. It is based on the concept of up-cycling waste pens.

Target Amount: Rs 5 Lakh

Sintuic – 3D
A 3D comic book on environmental education.

Target Amount: Rs 4.5 Lakh

Started in 2012, as a venture of Priyanka Agarwal and Anshulika Dubey, Wishberry offers customized marketing and campaign management services. It focuses on projects spanning across film, music, arts and design, theatre, food, technology and publishing. It has a campaign success rate of 80 percent. Within two years, 200 projects have raised nearly 4 crores from 9,000 funders in 54 countries.

Another India-based crowdfunding platform Catapoolt had raised USD 150,000 in seed funding from Venture Nursery, Calcutta Angels and others in 2014.
