Big Data Service Provider Webdata Solutions Raises $4.5M

Germany-based, Webdata Solutions which provides big-data service called Blackbee, that helps retailers and manufacturers to structure huge amount of data available on the web, has secured $4.5 million. The round was led by Paris-based VC Seventure Partners with participation from Senovo, and b-to-v Partners, along with previous investor TGFS.

As per a TechCrunch report, the raised funding will be used to develop its product offering and for further international expansion.

Founded in 2012, the company’s service Blackbee provides clients a solution for day-to-day monitoring of their competitor’s price points, automation for pricing management, bench-marking of current markets trends and more. With the help of this, retailers and manufacturers can make better strategic and product decisions and also keep a better tab on competitors and take action accordingly.

In related news, Bengaluru-based big data analytics startup, Manthan has recently raised USD 60 million in Series D round led by Temasek and Norwest Venture Partners. Another player in this space, Tookitaki, had recently secured USD 1 million in seed funding led by Jungle Ventures with participation from Rebright Partners and Blume Ventures. Data analytics startup Indus Insights had secured Series A funding from Hive India. Recently, big data firm Antuit raised USD 56 million from Goldman Sachs & Zodius Capital.
