VentureNursery, Indian angels-backed startup accelerator has announced that two startups– Whateo.com and The Home Salon have joined their 6th Acceleration program.
Whateo.com & The Home Salon have been selected by a panel of VN Angels Sameer Shah, Siddharth Ladsariya and Vishal Maheshwari, after evaluation and interviews with over 950 similar stage business. The main criteria being the market potential of the idea, current stage of the venture & the capability of the entrepreneurs behind the idea.
Here are the two startups
Whateo – Animated Video Creation Tool: Whateo.com is an ‘Assisted SaaS’ solution that aims to help marketers to create entertaining, brand-sensitive animated videos in a matter of hours, through a freemium model. It is also trying to replace other traditional sales, marketing, training and educational tools. Whateo.com is founded by Jay Sutaria, and his Co-founder sister, Shaili Sutaria.
Founder Jay Sutaria, said, “Whateo.com endeavours to free every marketer or presenter from the misery of drab presentations, boring websites and unenthusiastic videos. We want to enable him to communicate his ideas independently and impact fully while leaving his audience with a smile.”
The Home Salon – Salon & Wellness at your door step: The Home Salon addresses the at-home wellness market – currently pegged at USD 3.5 billion. Backed by Rishika Chandan, THS provides wellness treatments in the comfort of the customer’s home.
This service seeks to replicate a salon and make hassle-free, professional treatments available to every woman at her doorstep so that she can indulge in beauty upkeep while tending to her daily responsibilities. THS is currently available in some locations in Mumbai and is expected to expand to the rest of the city and other tier-1 locations soon.
VentureNursery had made an investment of INR 50 lakhs in Klip.in and an undisclosed amount in Interview Master. VentureNursery focuses on six sectors like Media & Entertainment, e-Commerce, Retail, Consumer Technology, Education and Clean Tech.
In October 2014, VentureNursery, had announced a seed investment by its angels in HotelsAroundYou, a service provider that allows customers to book quality hotels room at a best price. Also, it had invested in Delhi-based mobile travel marketplace, SeekSherpa in July 2014.
