Samsung Launches its First Tizen Z1 Smartphone in India for INR 5800

After launching Galaxy A7 smartphone this week, Samsung has now launched its first Tizen powered smartphone in India, the Samsung Z1 for around USD 92 (~INR 5,800). The device will be available in India from January 14th in White, Black and Wine Red colours.

The smartphone will come with a 4-inch WVGA PLS screen, powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 768 MB RAM and 4GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card. The device also features dual SIM support, 1500mAh battery, equipped with a 3.1 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera. Its connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 b/g/nBluetooth® 4.1USB 2.0GPS. The smartphone runs Tizen OS 2.3.

The Z1 also features a built-in AntiVirus protection, an ‘Ultra Power Saving Mode’ to extend the battery life, free access to Hungama music for three months as well as premium content available on Club Samsung. It allows users to send SOS alerts with just a press of the power button four times. Reliance and Airtel users will get up to 500MB of 3G data free every month over a 6 month period with the device.
