Online and mobile classifieds site Quikr has added a new feature – Quikr Nxt, that allows buyers ans sellers to connect with each other in real-time. The feature also enable users to chat with multiple users and share images.
Offline consumers get a notification so that they can chat one they are back online. Also, users can choose to make their listing private by hiding their mobile numbers but can still connect with prospective buyers and sellers. Features of Quikr Nxt include access across it;s mobile app, mobile site and website, benefiting consumers across the world.
Other features include chat histories for future reference, users can restart the conversation from where they left off and they can delete or block unwanted conversations.
Quikr was launched in July 2008 by Chulet and Jiby Thomas, it was originally started as Kijiji India, later it is rebranded as Quikr. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Quikr Mauritius Holding Private Limited and allows individuals and businesses to sell, buy and rent products/services across various categories like electronics, cars, bikes, real estate, entertainment, jobs and much more.
In September, it had raised USD 60 million led by U.S. investor Tiger Global Management with participation from the existing investors.
