Elon Musk plans to build a space internet platform to deliver internet services which are reliable, cheap and scalable all over the world.  His plans are not only limited to Earth, he wants the connectivity to reach Mars. Musk quotes, “It will be important for Mars to have a global communications network as well. I think this needs to be done, and I don’t see anyone else doing it.”

At a SpaceX event in Seattle, Musk said that he wants to spend USD 10 billion on his plan so as to expand it all the way from Earth to Mars, as per a report published by The Verge. According to Musk, the new plan will take at least five years.

Elon Musk’s new space internet venture plan will provide global internet without terrestrial wires. He says, “The speed of light is 40 percent faster in the vacuum of space than it is for fiber.” Hundreds of satellites will orbit above the earth. Satellites in lower orbits, as planned by the new space venture project head Elon Musk will serve sparsely populated areas, thereby making internet available for remote or poor regions that don’t have access.
