Mumbai-based a crowdfunding website, Wishberry has raised INR 4 crore for 200 projects mostly in film and music categories. The round was led by 44 investors including Google India’s Rajan Anandan, MakeMyTrip’s Deep Kalra, musician Shankar Mahadevan and director Vikramaditya Motwane among others.
As per an ET report, the new funds will be used to expand its technology and marketing team. “We also want to invest in analytics on the psychology of giving in India, to find out the emotional connect that needs to be established to increase funding,” said cofounder and COO Anshulika Dubey.
Started in 2012, as a venture of Priyanka Agarwal and Anshulika Dubey, offers customized marketing and campaign management services. Wishberry has a campaign success rate of 80%. Within two years, 200 projects have raised nearly 4 crores from 9,000 funders in 54 countries, as told to iamWire.
Another India-based crowdfunding platform Catapoolt had raised USD 150,000 in seed funding from Venture Nursery, Calcutta Angels and others in 2014.
