Snapdeal Ties Up with a Film on Bhopal Gas Tragedy; Also Launches Online Store for the Differently Abled

India’s online market portal Snapdeal has tied up with an international feature film, Bhopal- A prayer for Rain, directed by Ravi Kumar, an initiative taken to support Bhopal gas tragedy victims.

Thirty years have passed since the Bhopal gas tragedy claimed thousands of lives, the survivors still continue to suffer. To pay a tribute to the affected souls, the movie is releasing on 5th December 2014.

Snapdeal will offer selected range of products to its customers to shop and donate which will directly reach the survivors through the NGO Bhopal Medical Appeal.

Talking about this initiative, Sandeep Komaravelly, Senior Vice President-Marketing, Snapdeal said, “We aim to support the filmmaker’s endeavor to share with younger people the untold events that led to one of the biggest industrial disasters of all time. We are glad to be associated with the film.”

Online Rehab and Support store for the differently abled


Marking the International Day of People with Disability, Snapdeal, has launched a specialty online Rehab and Support Store to cater to the special needs of persons with disabilities. It’s Snapdeal’s attempt to provide a convenient shopping experience to differently-abled people. the store’s inauguration was done by Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament and Chairman of Standing Committee on External Affairs.

The online store will have more than 1100 products ranging from wheelchairs to hearing machines to walking sticks. The store will also enable the buyers to compare product specifications and make an informed buying decision.
