Bangalore-based online education startup SuperProfs, which offers online courses for competitive exams like CA, CS and GATE etc., has secured USD 3 million in series A round led by Kalaari capital and IDG Ventures India.
As per a VCCircle report, the raised funds will be used to expanding its operations across India as well as to add more courses to its platform.
SuperProfs is a product of Aurus Network Pvt Ltd, which was started in 2010 by IIT graduates Piyush Agrawal and Sujeet Kumar. It connects students preparing for various competitive exams with professors by providing live and recorded lectures through online video streaming. The company claims to have 25,000 registered students and has partnered with professors from Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai for various competitive exams.
“Online test prep market in India is projected to become a multi-billion dollar industry with over 15 million students preparing and appearing for various competitive exams annually. We’re confident that they will make a difference to millions of students in India and are excited to join them in this journey,” said Sumit Jain, principal at Kalaari Capital.
In March this year, a Delhi based education marketplace, GradeStack has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Times Internet.
