Movie Sharing App Maker Vliv Secures Seed Funding from Mumbai Angels


Mobile video tech startup Vliv, has secured an undisclosed amount from Mumbai Angels Network with participation from a group of executives of technology companies such as Manish Dalal of Verisign, Srini Raghavan of Scientific Games and Pari Natarajan of Zinnov, as per an Economic Times report.

Vliv is Santa Clara (US), Delhi and Bangalore based startup which will use the fund to expand its reach and launch its next video app in around 15 international languages.

Vliv currently has two video applications in the iOS App Store across the world : VOOL Movie maker and Vliv Videofun.

Vool is a video editing app that has all the tools to create movies and share them with the world. It also gives an option where a set of animation stickers can be added to the film.

“Majority of our app users are teenage girls in the 13-18 year-old bracket and nearly 70% of the current user base is in the US,“ said Vaibhav Suri, who co-founded the startup two years ago along with his Yahoo colleagues Ashish Chadha and Kiran Kulkarni.

There is another Indian founders backed video startup called Reel Messenger that is operating in a similar space.
