Janrain Acquires Indian Founders Led Product Company Arktan


Customer Identity Management technology firm, Janrain has announced the acquisition of Arktan, a provider of real-time social curation and social engagement products for an undisclosed amount.

Janrain announced the news on its website and said that, “The acquisition allowing both parties to leverage complementary product portfolios and bringing an integrated customer identity and customer engagement solution to the market.”

California-based Arktan was started in 2009 by Rahul Aggarwal and Srikanth Nagandla, it helps brands increase customer engagement on their sites and mobile apps with real-time social experiences. It services for digital marketers include increased engagement, time spent, conversion rates, site traffic, and new monetization opportunities from advertising, sponsorships, product sales, and data capture. Arktan is providing services to clients including Sony Music, WWE, A&E and Turner Entertainment.

Janrain has created a Janrain Customer Engagement Business Unit and the entire Arktan team will be part of it. Founded in 2005 by Larry Drebes, Janrain is based in Portland, Oregon, with offices in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Singapore, Bangkok and Redwood City, CA. it powers its services for brands like Universal Music Group, Pfizer, Samsung, Whole Foods, Fox News, Philips, Marvel, Mattel and Dr Pepper.
