Google has announced that Chromecast will be available for sale in India in partnership with Bharti Airtel, Eros Now and the device will be exclusively available on Snapdeal starting tonight at a price of INR 2,999.
Google Chromecast is an online video streaming device, it is a two-inch dongle that can be plugged into a television and controlled by a smartphones, tablets or a laptop, to allow people to access online content on their TVs.
As per a YourStory report, it will be available from Google Play, Snapdeal.com and select Airtel stores across India from December 10. Chromecast works with apps including Play Music, Netflix, HBO GO, YouTube among others and it also auto updates for compatibility with new devices.
It is directly competing with its Indian counterpart Teewe, which was launched on Snapdeal for INR 2,399.
Although the company is officially launching it now. The device is already available for purchase on a number of online portals such as on Amazon for INR 3,150, Flipkart for INR 3,499 and eBay with a price of INR 2,850.
