The Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) has launched key projects for the Telecom, IT and Postal departments on Good Governance Day.
The launched projects include time stamping of digital signature, integrated Indian languages virtual keyboard for Android platform, Param Shavak (super computer in box solution), bharat domain in Gujarati and Bangla, e-launch of support international patent protection in Electronics & IT scheme (SIP-EIT), disbursements under modified special incentive package scheme(m-SIPS), electronics manufacturing clusters (EMC) disbursement, as per an ET report.
The new projects also has schemes for the rural population of India by providing e-services through Gyansetu- an internet based real time ICT system. Along with the launch of MTNL apps for Android smartphones and e-governance competency framework (e-GCF), according to the same above mentioned source.
Additionally, e-books were also launched by the three departments of Telecom, IT and Post.
RS Sharma, DeitY Secretary said, “All government officials need to develop a positive mindset for e-governance and other Information and communication technology (ICT) programmes. They also need to update their ICT skills on a regular basis.” Further adding that DeitY is following good governance by the launch of its certain initiatives such as MyGov, Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System, e-Greetings, e-Sampark, National Digital Literacy Mission, e-Governance Competency Framework.
Recently, SlideShare’s co-founder Amit Ranjan had joined DeitY in order to build a collection of software applications. Where the aim of DeitY was to create Github like platform for Government organisations, where developers and Government departments can collaborate to create apps and softwares.
