Amazon has launched a new app called ‘Surprise’ which helps users to send e-cards to friends and family for any occasion.
You need to be an Amazon account holder to log into Surprise and send e-cards. There are two options, simple and personalised. A simple version allows you to send the card with a quick message while the personalised version gives you an option of attaching photos, audio or video clips with your card.
An option of animated reveal is also available, which is an animated video that helps the recipient unwrap the card upon delivery, as mentioned on Google play.
The user is required to build an occasion timeline on the app store, where Facebook contacts and special occasions gets added.
The app is available for iOS and Android users.
Amazon India has been looking to acquire 20 percent stake in gift card technology and retail firm QwikCilver Solutions, which is into providing gift card business to retailers and online retailers
Snapdeal, another e-commerce market player, recently acquired an online gift recommendation portal, Wishpicker.
In another recent news, an India-based online gifting company, GiftCardsIndia announced the acquisition of Giftery, which is a social gifting website based in Mumbai.
