After confirming its India launch in July, OnePlus is launching its the first flagship phone the ‘One’ in India on Amazon.
‘One’ will be available for purchase only on Amazon.in with invites starting December 2, 2014. In order to buy the phone, you either need to participate in Amazon’s contest or follow the invite mechanism of OnePlus on their website oneplus.net.
About OnePlus One
The OnePlus One has a 5.5-inch LTPS IPS display with 1080×1920 pixel resolution.
It comes in two variants – 16 GB and 64 GB storage options. A 13 megapixel camera has an array of lenses and aperture designed to capture images in low light conditions.
One smartphone will come with a 3GB of RAM, powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5GHz with Adreno 330 GPU
OnePlus V/S Xiaomi
In a similar news last week, Xiaomi launched its Redmi note in India. Xiaomi exclusively sells its smartphone through leading online retailer Flipkart. The good demand of Xiaomi phones in the country, may have inspired OnePlus to enter the Indian market.
The strategy of launching and selling their phones online is common between Xiaomi and OnePlus, with similar sales and marketing strategies. Xiaomi phone sales gets over within minutes it starts on Flipkart, whereas on the other hand OnePlus phones can be bought invitation, as you will have to follow the invite mechanism on the OnePlus website.
