Healthcare Startup Qikwell Closes USD 3 million in Series A Funding Led by SAIF Partners

Bangalore-based health care startup Qikwell has secured USD 3 million in series A funding led by SAIF Partners, reports VC Circle. Launched in 2011 by Krishna Prasad and Raghavendra Prasad, Qikwell runs an e-healthcare site that allows users to search and choose doctors based on area and specialization. Previously, it had also raised an angel round of INR 2 crore from investors including Amit Somani, Sunil Kalra and Alok Mittal.

The site provides information on doctors, live information on doctor’s availability, online appointment booking, delay or schedule change notifications, etc. Users can also view doctor’s availability live, book instant appointments, view appointment status and get alerts in case of delays. The firm operates its services in six cities: Bangalore, Chennai, Mysore, Vellore, Krishnagiri and Shimoga.

Big Data Platform Aureus Analytics Closes USD 850K in Angel Funding


Singapore-based big data analytics Aureus Analytics Pvt Ltd, has raised USD 850K in an angel round of funding from Steven Sule, Partner at Mumbai-based Naste Advisors with participation from others including Google India head Rajan Anandan, Murugappa Group scion Arun Venkatachalam, and Arihant Patni, managing director of The Hive India.

As per a report, the new funding will be used to enhance the company’s product development besides expanding its engineering and business teams.

 Zoho Acquires Minority Stake in Bangalore-based Zentron Labs

Zoho Corp, a Chennai-headquartered provider of online software solutions, has acquired a minority stake in Bangalore-based automation systems provider Zentron Labs for an undisclosed amount. As part of the deal, Zoho founder & CEO Sridhar Vembu has joined Zentron Labs as a mentor, reports Business Standard.

Founded in 2012 by Krishnan Ramabadran and Ramgopal Vallath, Zentron provides automation systems for processes that require visual and quality checking. Currently, it works with companies in sectors like pharmaceuticals, FMCG, electronics, horticulture and automotive among others.
