Delhi Based Education Portal Collegedunia has raised INR 1 Crore from Affiliate Marketing Company 3.14 Digital, Umang Kumar, CEO of Gaadi.com and other investors. 3.14 Digital has said that it would internally incubate the company as well. The company aims to utilize the raised funds to develop content and technology.
Collegedunia.com is a search engine for the students, parents, and education industry players who are seeking information on higher education sector in India and abroad. The website lists 20,000 colleges and 6000 courses categorized in different streams like Management, Engineering, Medical, Arts and much more.
Sahil Chalana, Founder of Collegedunia on the scope of Education Classifieds as a vertical said “The overall Spends on Education in the Digital Marketing space exceed 500 Crore and growing at more than 30% YoY. Although, print takes a big chunk of the 5000 Education Advertising Market, its moving much faster towards Digital.”
The firm already counts NIIT Ltd, Educomp, Hughes Education, Sikkim Manipal University, LPU, Symbiosis University, IMT Ghaziabad as its clients. The other players also included in this space are Toppr, which had raised USD 2.2 million from SAIF Partners and Helion Ventures; and Embibe which raised USD 4 million from Kalaari Capital.
