Apple has geared up for another battle against Google, as it has started selling its Ecobee3 smart Wi-Fi thermostat with a price of USD 249 on Amazon. The company recently added it to connected Home Section of its online store, to compete with Google-owned Nest thermostat. As per a 9to5 Mac report, the iPhone maker also sells Nest thermostat through its online storefront.

The smart thermostat can be controlled with an IPhone and iPad and Ecobee3 companion app is available on the App Store that allows users to manage their home heating and cooling system from anywhere. It supports up to 32 remote sensors over Wi-Fi to eliminate uneven temperature in households.

The remote sensors keep a room at the right temperature, and knows when the rooms are empty, it then optimizes the temperature control system to help save money and energy. Ecobee3 claims that an average user can save up to 23 percent on their heating and cooling bills per year by using the smart Wi-Fi thermostat in their home.
