Startup Next, a global pre-accelerator program – backed by the likes of Techstars, Google for Entrepreneurs, Global Accelerator Network and Startup Weekend – is coming to New Delhi.
The Startup Next program is designed for startups who plan to apply to accelerators or are pitching to investors for funding.
It is a mentorship program consisting of weekly sessions (one session in a week lasting three hours) for five weeks. The program has a structured curriculum and in-depth engagement with one-on-one mentoring, designed to help startups build the foundation of scalable ventures.
Following the program, the teams that have demonstrated their readiness and progress will have access to a number of value-added resources from the Startup Next global team, including a two day trip to Silicon Valley, that includes investor pitch events, networking events and learning sessions. Startups from the program will also be referred to Accelerator and/or Investor partners of Startup Next.
This year the program has helped over 20 startups to get into top accelerators, including Techstars and 500 Startups, while 8 more startups have collectively raised USD 5.7M for their initial seed rounds.
Startup Next is fully organized by local volunteers. In Delhi NCR it is being driven by startup evangelist, Prajakt Raut, founder of The Hub for Startups.
Apart from Prajakt, the mentor panel consists of experienced entrepreneurs and investors including –

“Programs like these are excellent opportunities for first-time entrepreneurs to understand the fundamentals of building a business, from the experts. Not only does this involve learning but also doing, as the program involves going out into the field and hustling to complete a set of reporting deliverables each week in preparation for the mentorship” – Prajakt Raut
Vikram Upadhyaya added “I volunteered as a mentor for Startup Next as it helps startups focus on the progress they need to make to be accepted into top-notch accelerator programs, or noticed by investors. And that makes all the difference.”
The program is being hosted at Investopad, one of the co-working spaces for startups in India.
