Samsung launches A5 and A3: Slimmest Smartphones from the Company Till Date

The South Korean-giant has officially introduced Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3, touted as the slimmest smartphones from the company till date. Featuring refined full metal unibody designs that are 6.7mm and 6.9mm thin respectively, these new phones have significant visible changes and Samsung has finally adapted the metal body after shedding off their love for plastic.

The primary focus of the company is the young, moment sharing, social-media driven buyers. To fulfill all the requirements, Samsung offer an advanced 5-megapixel front facing camera for taking pictures clearly and vividly. Other interesting features such as Wide Selfie, Palm Selfie, Rear Cam Selfie, and Beauty Face that were earlier limited to Galaxy Note 4 only, are now going to be a part of the software in the Galaxy A3 and A5.

The Galaxy A5 and A3 offer a beautifully crafted full metal unibody, slim design, superior hardware and the best possible social media experience,” said JK Shin, CEO and Head of IT & Mobile Communication at Samsung Electronics. “These devices make our advanced Galaxy experience even more accessible to young and trend conscious consumers,” he further added.

With these smartphones Samsung look to regroup and regain its lost market share in annual terms in the third quarter, according to Strategy Analytics. Samsung said on Friday that it will start selling the Galaxy A3 and A5 in China sometime in November. It classified them as mid-tier phones, and said they will be launched in other “select markets”, without disclosing the pricing.

As per constant changing trends of the enormously growing Smartphone market, the looks and specifications of the phone are something which is deeply being monitored by every Smartphone developer. The thickness of the smartphone is being considered as the main USP. Earlier it was only Gionee Elife S5.1 being promoted as the thinnest smartphone in the world with a 5.1mm thickness. Recently, Chinese smartphone maker Oppo also jumped into the competition by launching the world’s slimmest Oppo R5 smartphone, with the thickness of 4.85mm.
With variety of options available in the market, a customer is spoiled by choices and it would be interesting to see which company would prove its mettle in this never-ending race.
