IRCTC Ticket Booking App for Android is Here

Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) has finally launched an Android App to book train tickets. The app is available on Google Play Store and offers services like one step login to existing users, allows users to search, book, view and cancel train tickets, Retains recently added passenger details and provides upcoming journey results. The finding was first reported by AndroidOS.

On an average around 5 lakh tickets are booked daily on IRCTC website. Recently, it had also introduced an app for windows phone and Windows 8 devices, in partnership with software maker company, Microsoft. These apps were available free for download from windows phone store.

In August this year, IRCTC had launched a BlackBerry-10 smartphone app to book train tickets, available at Blackberry store and offers services like reservation status, train schedules, train rutes, availability of tickets, cancellation, booking history etc.

To provide ease to the customers, while making payment for online ticket booking on IRCTC’s website, IRCTC has recently added an eWallet service for the consumers and also announced the launch of SMS ticketing.
