Online marketplace Amazon is planning to launch a Physical store in New York City, its first brick-and-mortar retail chain is expected to be open in holiday-shopping season. If the firm gets a positive result, then it may expand to other cities. Amazon has also looking eyes to set up pop-up stores in malls.
As WSJ reported, the site will support same-day delivery, returns and order pickups within New York. The Manhattan location would function as a “mini-warehouse” for same-day delivery in New York, product returns and pickups of online orders, according to the report.
In past, Chief Executive Jeff Bezos has led a number of initiative such as expansion of grocery, same-day delivery, launching of Gift Card store, expand its Kindle Direct Publishing business among others. In the End of August, Amazon announced that it is expanding its virtual currency, Amazon Coins to Japan and Australia.
