Symphony Commerce Secures USD 21.5M in Series B led by CRV & Others

San Francisco, California-based Symphony Commerce has raised USD 21.5 million in Series B led by CRV with participation from Bain Capital and FirstMark Capital. As per a TechCrunch report, it is expected to use its raised funds to expand its engineering team. Recently, the firm had secured USD 12.2 million in Series A funding, USD 2.7 million in Seed investment and same amount in an undisclosed round. Till date, the company had received a total capital of USD 39 million including the latest funding. It is backed by 10 investors.

Launched in 2010 by Co-Founder & CEO Harish Abbott and Co-Founder/President Henry Kim. It operates in ‘commerce as a service’ space with an aim to provide commerce tools — fulfillment, inventory management, infrastructure etc. to digital companies. The company offers solutions to build products and connecting with customers.

It is expected to release product called Compose in the first quarter of 2015 to help businesses build ecommerce storefronts using a simple drag and drop interface. Also, the firm is developing a number of APIs to enables developers to tap into its service system, without using its full stack.
