Altruist acquires Big Data firm iConnectiva


Chandigarh-based mobile VAS firm Altruist Technologies has acquired Big Data analytic solutions provider, iConnectiva in an all-cash deal. The deal size is still undisclosed.

As Tech Circle reported, iConnectiva will continue to operate as an independent entity from Kolkata. Hong Kong and Kolakta based iConnectiva offers fraud management, revenue assurance and big data analytics solutions to companies such as telecom, media and utility to improve operational effectiveness and increase overall profitability.

iConnectiva was launched by Rajesh Sanghi, Arunesh Sharan and Apratim Basu. It currently operates customer support centres in Africa, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Europe and South America, besides India.

Altruist was established in 2005 by brothers Dheeraj and Anuj Aggarwal, has its operations in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, North Africa, US and competes with various VAS companies including One97 Communications, ACL Wireless, IMI Mobile, Affle, ValueFirst Messaging, Indiatimes Mobile among others.

Recently, it bought Singapore-based social voice messaging company Bubbly, Sweden-based VAS company Teligent Telecom, mobile applications and IT solutions company RelayStrategy and invested seed capital in Mumbai-based mobile gaming company Vegam, for a 20% stake.
