iPhone 6 is Here! And So is iPhone 6 Plus

Finally Apple has unveiled its most anticipated product of this year iPhone6. The iPhone has gotten a bit bigger and a bit thinner. And along with iPhone 6, its rumoured big twin has been launched too as iPhone 6 Plus.

Size and Display

iPhone 6 has a screen resolution of 1334 by 750 with 326 pixels per inch, whereas iPhone 6 Plus has a resolution of 1920 by 1080 with 401 pixels per inch. That’s full 1080p HD resolution. Both the phones come with a new Retina HD Display, and Apple is boasting that iPhone 6 has over one million pixels. And iPhone 6 Plus has over two million pixels.

Like mentioned above, both the phones are bigger than the existing 5S and 5C, with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus measuring 4.7″ and 5.5″ diagonally, now users who complain about iPhone being too small have an option.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are powered by the Apple-designed A8 chip. The A8 chip has up to 25% faster processing power and up to 50% faster graphics.

Apple says that iPhone 6 is up to 50% more energy efficient, to have higher sustained performance. And that the A8 is able to sustain performance-intensive tasks, like playing a game at higher frame rates.

iPhone 6 has faster LTE than iPhone 5s. It also has more LTE bands than any other smartphone for better roaming.

Apple claims that iPhone 6 Plus will play games in higher resolution than next generation consoles. It has already signed up a number of game developers to create games for these high res, powerful phones, such as Disney, EA, Unity, Gameloft, Zynga etc.

The M8 coprocessor continuously measures motion data from the accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass.

iPhone 6 has an 8MP iSight camera, 1.5µ pixels, ƒ/2.2 aperture, and can judge distance and elevation. To make the new iPhones better than the previous ones, Apple has introduced ‘Focus Pixels’ technology previously found only in professional DSLR cameras, the Focus Pixels determine focus direction and how far to move the lens.

Apple has added a bouquet of features to improve the camera quality from the predecessors , like Faster autofocus, local tone mapping, optical image stabilisation, burst modes and advanced noise reduction.

The FaceTime HD (Front) camera has an all-new sensor and larger ƒ/2.2 aperture that lets in over 80% more light.

iOS 8

And like it was already out in the public, both the iPhones are powered by iOS 8.
