Google Doodle wishes Teacher’s Day
On Friday, Google come out with an early Doodle to celebrate Teacher’s Day. This day, that celebrates every year, is marked on September 5. Its being celebrated as the birthday of Independent India’s second President, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (1888-1975), since 1962.
It is said that when Radhakrishnan became the President of India, his friends and students requested him to celebrate his birthday. To this, Radhakrishnan replied, “Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if 5 September is observed as Teacher’s Day.”
At this occasion, Google Doodle portrays the teachers from various disciplines: the first uppercase letter ‘G’ plays the role of a stern bespectacled teacher, next ‘o’ portrays the mathematics teacher while the next ‘o’ who taught languages. The next letter ‘g’ is a sports teacher, lowercase ‘l’ shocases the chemistry teacher and last letter ‘e’ denotes a music teacher.
The day is observed at various social, commercial and political organisations around the world, and now online businesses are observing this trend too.
