New Delhi-based, The Batter House, is an e-commerce website dealing in ingredients, bakery & chocolate making tools, decorations and packaging material, and caters to customers across India. It aims to be a one-stop shop for people who are into baking & chocolate/dessert making.

The firm was launched in February 2014, as a venture of Aarti Gupta, Mohit Gupta, Pooja Gupta and Shaili Gupta and is currently running in a bootstrapped mode.

What problems it is solving: Special ingredients, tools, bake-ware required for baking, chocolate making, etc. are either not easily available in the market or are not available at the same shop. Customers have to collect supplies by going to different stores and is a hassle for them.

Socktail, is a new entrant in the furniture market and targets the online furniture and home décor domain. Pune-based, Socktail offers a catalog of home, office, outdoor and restaurant furniture as well as provides tips on home improvement & furniture care.

What problems it is solving: It is trying to fill a void in the furniture and home décor market. In India, this industry is still in its nascent stage with an idea to build a platform where professionals (interior designers, landscape artists etc.) can contribute and people can buy.
