Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) has launched a BlackBerry-10 smartphone app to book train tickets, as per an Economic Times report. The app is available at Blackberry store and offers services like reservation status, train schedules, train rutes, availability of tickets, cancellation, booking history etc.
At present, on IRCTC around 5 lakh tickets are booked daily. Recently, it had also introduced an app for windows phone and Windows 8 devices, in partnership with software maker company, Microsoft. These apps were available free for download from windows phone store.

To provide ease to the customers, while making payment for online ticket booking on IRCTC’s website, IRCTC has recently added an eWallet service for the consumers and also announced the launch of SMS ticketing.
But considering the Android market share is higher than that of Windows and Blackberry, IRCTC should re-consider its mobile strategy.
