In order to expand its wearable devices portfolio, LG has launched a KizON wristband designed for pre-school and primary school children, that helps parents to keep track of their young children’s whereabouts. The availability and price are still undisclosed but it is expected that the service will go live in South Korea from 10 July. LG is also planning its introduction in North American and Europe in the third quarter of this year.
With the help of GPS and WiFi, KizON provides real time location information and allows the parents to monitor the whereabouts of their children on a smartphone or tablet. The wristband also includes a ‘One Step Direct Call’ feature to communicate with a loved one.
Using this feature, parents can easily communicate with their children and the children can also press the One Step Direct Call button to dial a pre-configured phone number. The battery of KizON is rated for 36 hours, parents will be alerted via their smartphones when the battery on KizON falls below 25 per cent.
The wristband is designed from eco-friendly Polythiourethane (PTU) material that is water-resistant as well as stain-resistant. It comes with a wide range of accessories features and will be available in three colors- blue, pink and green.
IBN Live says: If the child fails to answer a call from any of the pre-configured numbers within ten seconds, KizON will automatically connect the call to let the parents listen through the built-in microphone.
Another important function of KizON is Location Reminder, which gives adults the ability to pre-set the device to provide location alerts at specific times throughout the day.
