The Cupertino-based company, Apple Inc. is planning an event in the mid-September to announce the iPhone 6 and provide final details on iOS 8. The event is expected to be held between the second and third week of September. At the event, iPhone 6 will come with a 4.7-inch display along with 2GB of RAM, a model which is said to almost done with its testing and manufacturing development.
According to a report published by BGR, the company plans to offer iOS 8 beta 5 to developers on August 4, and the final version of the OS known as iOS 8 beta 6 on August 15. Recently, Apple released iOS 8 beta 4, which is said to be the most stable testing version of the OS so far.
Earlier this week, Apple announced its latest quarterly earning report, Apple sold 35.20 million iPhones, 13.27 million iPads, 4.41 million Macs and 2.96 million iPods. The company has also plans to release new versions of iPads which are expected to have internal improvements alongwith Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
“Our record June quarter revenue was fueled by strong sales of iPhone and Mac and the continued growth of revenue from the Apple ecosystem, driving our highest EPS growth rate in seven quarters,” Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO said.
Also, Apple Inc. has finally taken its step towards smart home technology market by introducing Home Kit, a platform for smart home accessories. Along With this app, Apple has also announced new products and updates including iOS software for iPhones and iPads, new language of coding known as Swift.
Apple has also announced its plans to launch a new platform for using its iOS devices as smart home controller. It is also expanding its iCloud storage services to store and sync files of any type for iCloud. Recently, the company has also launched new iPhones and iPads and is now planning to launch internet connected watch to expands its reach in wearable technology.
Tech First Post says: For now, Apple is pinning its hopes on iPhone 6, which is something many users have been waiting for. Though the fate of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 is still unclear, rumours are rife that the 4.7-inch model will hit stores this September.
NDTV Gadgets says: An earlier report citing KGI Securities’ analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that due to production issues the launch of the alleged larger iPhone 6 variant might be delayed to next year. Kuo added that if the phone was launched in October, it would likely be available in limited quantities.
9to5mac.com says: Apple CFO Luca Maestri said iPhone sales were on the high end of Apple’s own expectations, but he noted, as Apple does annually, that sales could have been higher if it were not for “new product rumors.”
Also in Apple’s pipeline for this fall are new versions of the iPad. Sources and previous reports say to expect a more modest series of iPad updates this fall that center around internal device improvements and Touch ID fingerprint scanners. As he says almost quarterly, Cook said yesterday that “significant innovation” is in the cards for the iPad in the future.
IBTimes says: While purported parts of the iPhone 6, such as sapphire screens, camera sensorsand more continue to leak out of factories in China, few details are currently known about the entire device.
