Public-relation analytics platform, Trend Kite has raised USD 3.2 million in series A round from Mercury Fund and Silverton Partners, as reported by TechCrunch. In addition to the funding, the company confirmed that it has a new CEO Erik Huddleston, executive vice president of product at social monitoring company Dachis Group.
It aims to utilize the raised funds for fueling future growth as well as expanding business strategy. Earlier, it had received USD 1.2 million in series A round from Silverton Partners, Raymond Walheim and others. Including this round, the company has secured a total funding of USD 4.4 million.
Trend Kite offers a service that helps brands and business clients track all of the promotional and media-generating efforts of your PR campaigns. The service also includes analytics (with a customizable dashboard) that show what PR actions are working and which are wasting a company’s time. (As reported by Venture Beat)

Huddleston also praised the founders’ vision, as well as their experience in the industry and in sales: “The only thing they were really missing was the product component.” Not that he was criticizing the product itself (he recalled talking to customers who “raved” about it), just suggesting that the company needed someone with a strong product background at the top.
