Pinterest, the free site which lets people “pin” pictures from websites they want to share on online peg boards, has been targeted by hackers, with weight-loss spam pouring out of several Pinterest accounts over the weekend onto other social networks such as Twitter. Pinterest has also confirmed few ‘instances of spams’. Due to this, possibilities are Pinterest may lose its loyal users.

Well responding to it, Pinterest in a statement said, “The security of Pinners is a top priority. We were alerted to some instances of spam and responded by immediately placing impacted accounts in safe mode, and reaching out to Pinners as we solved the issue. We’re constantly working on ways to keep Pinners safe through reactive and proactive steps, as well as educating them on the importance of using complex and unique passwords.”
