mCarbon launches OTT app for Indian Telecom provider

Value Added Service provider, mCarbon Tech Innovation Pvt Ltd. has launched an over-the top (OTT) call management mobile application for Indian Telecom service, as per an Economic Times report. This app offers call filtering, setting profiles, visual voicemail, SMS screening, phonebook utilities and other push notifications.

It supports all mobile operating systems like windows, iphone, android and is built on m- carbon greenroom network platform. This platform provides multiple types of applications and services and is called Network Intelligent Framework.

The app can work over Wifi, 3G and LTE mobile networks and can be branded by mobile operators and downloaded by subscribers through app stores.

Noida based mCarbon was launched in 2009 by Co-Founder Brijmohan Mahendru and CEO Rajesh Razdan. Recently, it has raised an undisclosed amount in Series A round by Canaan Partners. The firm has developed a greenrom network platform to launch multiple products such as voice, data, sms in a short time and reduced costs.

“We believe operators stand in a far superior position than individual app OTT providers as they own the core network and offer ubiquitous service. Advanced Call Management app will help operators engage more with subscribers, own their service experience and get additional data revenues”, said Rajesh.

Last year, the firm also introduced an USSD gateway, a protocol used to communicate with the service provider computers. At present, the company is also  having operations in Bangladesh and Nepal. It is planning to expand its business strategy to Africa in near future.
