Apple steps into smart-home market, introduces ‘Home Kit’

Apple Inc. has finally taken its step towards smart home technology market by introducing Home Kit, a platform for smart home accessories, as per a Business Journal report. The new application is expected to get launch with iOS 8 that allows users to control connected gadgets and appliances using an iPhone as well as Siri.

Few days back, Apple has announced its plans to launch a new platform for using its iOS devices as smart home controller.

The app will allow the users to control garage doors, lights and security cameras, by simply speaking a command. Also, It will  work with others products like Philips Hue lighting system, a weather station and baby monitors.

According to Apple SVP Craig Federighi, as announced in a conference in San Francisco, the Home Kit platform securely connects to devices on Wi-Fi to allow users to use Apple’s newly announced fingerprint-recognition feature to unlock doors or turn off the lights by telling Siri “goodnight.”

Along With this app, Apple has also announced new products and updates including iOS software for iPhones and iPads, new language of coding known as Swift.

It is also expanding its iCloud storage services to store and sync files of any type for iCloud. Recently, the company has also launched new iPhones and iPads and is now planning to launch internet connected watch to expands its reach in wearable technology.
