Amazon is holding an event on June 18 where it is rumored that the company may launch its long-awaited smartphone, possibly with a 3D interface. The people in the video seem to be swiveling a device and looking at it from different directions, which suggests that it could be the smartphone with a 3D interface. (As reported by Veooz)
As we revealed earlier this year, Amazon’s smartphone is expected to feature a 4.7-inch 720p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM and an innovative 3D software interface. The phone’s primary rear camera should come in at 13-megapixels with a front-facing camera for video calls, but four additional front-facing cameras will allow for the device’s 3D effects. More from Bizjournal: Amazon posed the first serious challenge to Apple’s iPad in the tablet market with the launch of its Kindle Fire. The two companies also compete in web services including digital entertainment. Previous reports have said Amazon was developing a smartphone that would run on Google Inc.’s Android operating system. Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablets use the OS, though Amazon runs its own app store on the devices.
