Snapdeal launches home installation services for car audio systems

Online marketplace has launched door-step services for installing car audio systems. the service is available currently at Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi, Noida, Mysore, Mangalore, Cochin, Hubli across all car models.

“There is an inherent need for some expert installation for some categories such as Car Audio and that is what we have addressed through this offering,” said Tony Navin, VP – Business Development, Snapdeal.com

The company will plan to extend the service to other cities depending on the consumer response. It is for the first time an online portal has launched such service.

Paytm expands its marketplace portfolio

Paytm has added two new categories viz. Mobile phones and Cameras to its existing marketplace portfolio. The Paytm app is currently available across Android and iOS app stores and has seen over 6 million downloads till date.

Both the categories will cover all major brands along with the recently released options. For example, In mobiles, the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Micromax Canvas Doodle 3.

“We will continue to add more products in the mobile and camera category to make it a comprehensive catalogue, on a single platform. We aim to reach out to more and more people with best-of-breed products coupled with exciting offers,” said Deepak Abbot, AVP, Paytm.

Paytm mobile marketplace brings over 250 merchants with over 1,00,000 items for users on one mobile platform. It also offers a feature of allowing bargaining between the merchant and buyer through a text messenger.

Other categories available on the marketplace are Apparels, Footwear, Accessories, Art Décor, and many more. Paytm is chasing a target of over 1mn transactions a day on its platform.

Times Internet brings in digital awards for the music industry

Times Internet has recently took an initiative to launch digital awards, on Wednesday, for the Indian music industry. The awards were selected on the basis of actual play-outs & consumption by millions of users across the digital platforms on Gaana.com.

The event gave out awards for different categories.  

- Arjit Singh: Most popular singer (male) for the song “Tum Hi Ho” from Aashiqui 2

- Shreya Ghoshal: Most popular singer (female) for her singing rendition in Aashiqui 2.

- Aashiqui2: Most popular Hindi album

- “Tum hi ho” song:  Most popular Hindi Gaana

-  “Exotic” song: Most popular International Gaana (sung by Priyanka Chopra)

- “Badtameez dil” song: As “Fastest to first” from “Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani”

- “Vaanganna Vanakkanganna” and “Thangali” song: Most popular Tamil and Kannada

Also, the Gaana mobile app has been recently updated to version 4.0. The app will now integrate streaming, music videos, and lyrics in one mobile service. a grey camera icon will now indicate whenever music videos will be available. Also, lyrics are visible on a full screen mode (initially for selected songs) and is being improved in terms of  readability and access to content.
