Social talent discovery platform raises 100K

Bangalore based, social movie and talent discovery platform, FilmySphere has raised USD 100,000, on Friday, as per a DealCurry report. The investment was led by an US based unnamed angel investor for equity which is little over three percent. The company aims to utilize the raised funds for expanding its marketing strategy as well as hiring upcoming talents through new launched Talent Sphere for editorial purpose.

Till next year, FilmySphere will focus towards Hindi, Bengali, Marathi and Hollywood industry. Recently, it has laid down Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films.

FilmySphere was launched in 2013 by CEO Ganesh HS and COO Gaurish S Akki. It is known as a social movie platform that connects young artists and film fraternity via its marketplace model. It helps users to follow favourite celebrities, movies and discover upcoming talents and jobs in entertainment posted by production houses.

The company uses social sites like facebook to analyze user’s favourite movies and celebrities, checking reviews posted by them and finding friends already available on the platform. It also plans to held a five-day program for selecting new talents for their upcoming films.

The startup is also building customized business pages for the entertainment industry. “Besides content, we also offer cameras on hire for upcoming talents for their short films,” said Ganesh HS, CEO & Co-Founder.

At present, the company claims to have 22,000 pageviews on a monthly basis from India, US, UAE and Indonesia. It also having 2.5 lakh people who follows celebrities and consume entertainment news.
