Online fruits and vegetable store Greencart raises funding

Mumbai based Greencart.in which sells fruits & vegetable online has raised USD 1.5 million in angel funding from Techno Group according to The Hindu Business Line.

Raised funds will be used in expanding its operations, strengthen distribution channels and further improve its sourcing network.

Founded by Rajiv Tevtiya,  Kiran Tevtiya and Devidas Mule, in 2013, Greencart offers over 1500 different products across more than 30 categories.

Other than fruits and vegetables, which is its core business, Greencart offers gourmet food products like groceries, bakery items, snacks, beverages, confectioneries and ready-to-eat products. The company promises to offer its products with an adulteration free assurance and maintain international standards of freshness and hygiene.

Greencart currently delivers across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane, with its plan to soon start shipping in other parts of the country as well.

Other significant players working in this niche include BigBasket, AaramshopLocalBanya and Ekshop.
