Fabindia’s William Bissell invests in Foradian Technologies

Bangalore based Foradian Technologies, which provides open source ERP software solutions to private institutes has raised USD 2 million from William Bissell, managing director at Fabindia, which is an Indian chain of stores for ethnic products.

Foradian Technologies provides cloud-based enterprise resource planning solutions for educational institutions. The company’s proprietary product Fedena – which turned out to be a huge success – is a multipurpose school/campus management software built on Ruby On Rails.

Fedena is being used by over 40 thousand institutions in over 100 countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia.

According to ETRetail, which first reported the news, Bissell decided to invest in the company after using Fedena at “The Fabindia School” in Rajasthan – a little over a year ago.

“Educational institutions are increasingly becoming complex organisations. Fedena is a useful solution that helps integrate all the administrative functions of a school into a single, easy to use software,” Bissell told ETRetail.
