Big Data and analytics company Germin8 has announced on Thursday that the company has raised USD 3 million in series A from Kalaari Capital. Raised funds will be used to strengthen its position in India through sales and marketing, R&D deployment and fuel its foray into international markets.

Germin8 focuses on building products that enable organizations to make better decisions based on insights drawn from analysing unstructured data.
The company’s analytics platform takes stakeholder conversations from both public and private sources like social media, news, emails and chats, analyses them using proprietary text mining algorithms and presents them on live interactive dashboards. In short, the company helps brands monitor their online presence,generate leads and analyze campaigns.
Cofounded by Ranjit Nair and Kumar Shiralagi in 2007, the company today works with over a 100 brands directly or through partner agencies. Some of its clients including national players like MTV, Marico, ICICI Prudential, Godrej Industries, Johnson & Johnson and Asian Paints, among several others national and international brands.
