Hyginex, the maker of a patented wristband-based technology maker that focuses on strengthening healthcare facilities’ hand hygiene programs has received investment from Persistent Systems. Terms of the deal have been kept undisclosed.
“This important new relationship between Hyginex and Persistent Systems allows Hyginex access to Persistent’s experience and knowledge as leaders in the technology world,” remarks Shiva Swami, CEO, Hyginex. “Through this investment, Persistent would be able to help Hyginex reach its goals of making significant changes in improving patient safety and increasing quality standards in healthcare facilities.”
Founded in 2008 by Shiva Swami and Efrat Raichman, Hyginex is a wearable tech making company in the healthcare sector that helps doctors and nurses improve hand hygiene practices. The idea is to eliminate healthcare associated infections (HAIs) that lead to several preventable patient deaths across the world.
The recent funding will enable Hyginex to accelerate its overall operations and further expand its operations in the U.S.
Persistent Systems is a global company specializing in software product and technology services. Its newly established venture fund provides seed capital to companies operating in areas including social, mobile, analytics and cloud computing. The fund invests between USD 100,000 to USD 250,000.
