Nirvana Digital, a multi-channel YouTube network in India, has announced that the company has crossed 1 billion video views mark on its YouTube channels. It currently owns more than 200 YouTube channels and over 50,000 videos.
“Our billion-view milestone proves that YouTube is an incredible medium for brand advertisers and video content owners to reach out to audiences effectively. It also certifies that we are a leader in helping any video content owner distribute and earn revenues from their content,” said Pinakin Thakkar, Director, Nirvana Digital.
Started two years ago, Nirvana Digital allows developers to showcase and market their video content for a global audience and thereby start generating revenues right from the start. The company works with small, medium and large content creators to showcase their content and provide infrastructure such as studio space, green screens, HD cameras and editors.
The network has served over 2.5 billion minutes of video in 2013 alone. Other than YouTube, the company distributes content to several other global video platforms including HULU, Amazon VOD and Apple iTunes, among others.
Since last few years, YouTube viewership has dramatically increased in India. According to comScore reports, India has been recognised as one of the largest markets for YouTube today, which has become an increasingly important medium for content creators, brands and advertisers.
With online video flourishing as a sector and YouTube becoming widely used among the masses, several Multi Channel YouTube Networks have entered the market. Other similar platforms include Maker Studios, Fullscreen, AwesomenessTV(sold to DreamWorks Animation) and more.
