APEX 2014 summit is here, should attend?

ApexEntrepreneur-PE/VC investor event APEX which organises its annual meetup for budding entrepreneurs in India has announced the details of its upcoming APEX’14, due to take place on March 6.

Taking place in Mumbai at ITC Grand Central (Parel), the event is expected to have India’s some of the well-known venture capitalists and independent investors. This include Shankar Narayanan, MD, Carlyle Group; Avnish Bajaj, MD, Matrix Partners and Ravi Gururaj, cofounder, Harvard Angels India, among others.  

The meetup is designed to help struggling entrepreneurs learn about the latest trends in the Private Equity/Venture Capital scene in India. This will moreover help them understand the other know-hows of raising the first round of institutional capital for their company, while offering a decent scope for networking.

Under the agenda, the event is organising a 3-hour session on the “Art of Attracting Investment”. The session will kick-start with VC Firms like Inventus Capital, Ventureast and Nirvana Ventures introducing themselves which will then be followed by a role play featuring a negotiation between an entrepreneur and investor to explain the aspects of term sheet involved in an Angel/VC Investment transaction. Playing the roles of entrepreneur and investors will be Ravi Gururaj, Co-Founder, Harvard Angels India and Sharda Balaji, Founder Partner NovoJuris, respectively.

The final segment of the session will see two entrepreneurs who have recently raised venture capital financing – Karan Behal, Founder, Pretty Secrets & Avlesh Singh, Founder, WebEngage – share their experience on how they went about it. Alok Goyal, Partner, Helion Ventures will also join the panel to provide his perspective and answer questions from entrepreneurs in the audience.
