Waamall.in, a platform to buy solar products online

waamall_logoIt seems that majority entrepreneurs have now started believing, the importance of Omni- Channel presence. Brands like Bottega Di Lungavita, Tulsi, Condé Nast and many more have recently forayed into the eCommerce world to explore new opportunities. Tapping out again another niche sector, WAAREE Group have launched its online portal, Waamall.in to sell sola products.

Waamall will offer ‘Solar Products’ that shall include Industrial Retail products, Valves and Level gauges in the near future. At present, the venture focuses on two categories: Photovoltaic modules and the other solar products like Solar Mobile charger, Solar Bag, Solar battery charger, Solar camping light, etc.

It features products from various worldwide Brands like Hubbell,BIPICO, Omntec but offers limited modes of payments restricted to  D.D., Mastercard and Visa only. The delivery charges are not specific and are based on product to product. The firm currently partners with logistic companies such as Blue Dart, FedEX , DTD and India Post.

As per Hitesh Doshi, CMD, WAAREE Group. in the next five years, the solar products market in India is expected to be around INR 10, 000 crores.

“Its just the start. There is a large opportunity not only because of the power shortage, but the mobility and the reduction in waiting time to get the energy. Say, in case of mobile chargers, people are always on the move and there we are targeting approx. 2% of the market share. Again, around 10%+ of the Indian population uses Kerosene lantern which makes us target approx. 10 crore of the lantern costing INR 1000. Thus, each product has  a different market share and opportunity”, he added.

As said, the traction has been good and the company is currently focusing on creating more awareness about the availability of solar products. Also, in coming months, the company is planning to expand services internationally, preferably in US and Middle East in the first phase.
