Metis Learning launches Eddy, an Android based kids learning Tablet

Metis Learning, an education startup based out of New Delhi has launched an Android Tablet , Eddy, for kids aged between 2 – 10 years. Claimed as an only tablet to map school curriculum to games, the tablet includes the contribution of expert educators from institutes such as DPS, Shriram, Springdales and Sanskriti.

Eddy is equipped with over 150 high-quality learning games, linked to school curriculum and covering key learning areas including language, math, our world and creativity. As said, the team ensures that only games which are highly engaging, violence-free and enjoyable for children are selected. Also, it comes with a kid-safe browser, which only permits access to reliable websites.

The kids guardians will have an access to over 50,000 educational apps on Google Play store with a recommendation engine, the Kids Radar. Not only can parents set time limits for their children to play on Eddy, they can decide which subjects their children should focus on. In addition, they get detailed reports on what their child is actually doing on the tablet.

The tablet has a 1024 X 600 IPS screen, which ensures vastly superior images. It has a 0.3 MP front camera and a 2MP back camera. A 3200 mAH battery ensures more than 4 hours of continuous usage time on full charge.  1.6 GhZ dual core processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage are some other hardware specifications of the product. Also, it  comes with a food grade, shock absorbing cover, to reduce the possibility of damage.

Eddy is currently being used in select schools in India and has been extensively tested by 500+ children. Parents can create up to three child profiles on Eddy to ensure that each child gets relevant content as per their needs.
